As the war on terrorism escalates, so dose the confusion, as there is no agreement on what constitutes terrorism. The term ‘terrorist’ has been broadened to incriminate Animal rights groups, environmentalists and protesters…..this could be used against anyone with an opposing opinion. The U.S state department’s opinion on terrorism been ‘Premeditated, politically motivated violence by subnational groups or clandestine agents usually intended to influence an audience.’ Pretty broad description! According to the pocket Oxford dictionary of current English, fith edition; terror is extreme fear, and terrorism is systematic intimidation as a method of governing or securing political or other ends..S and Australian authorities have been using the crackdown on terrorism to terrorise those who object to their scrupulous decisions to sell out to corporate greed.Supposedly P.E.T.A and S.H.A.R.K are terrorist groups according to the late Utah State representative, Paul Ray, who tried to defend his repeated allegations against the organisations. S.H.A.R.K, P.E.T.A and the Utah Animal rights Coalition were satisfied that they had educated the public about rodeo violence to animals. The S.H.A.R.K video truck has shared their undercover footage of electro shocking and other intimidating treatment of cattle and horses at Utah rodeos. Footage of rodeos have helped provide proof that the animal activists are not the terrorists. Terrorising animals and violence from spectators are the only acts of terrorism proven in this case. (source:Animal People April/May 2002) Thinking of terrorism in this light, it could be assumed that your pacifist hippy or your average redneck farmer could be your next Osama Bin Ladin. As was the case in Northern NSW, Australia, where Farmers, Priests, Old Ladies and child protesters alike were manhandled and arrested by Riot squad at tiny protests against unconventional gas mining. Like wise in Dakota, America, where the government used their own extreme force against the native original land owners protesting for their right to clean water. Private security were hired to legitimise the extremities of there force against their own people, setting dogs on young women and children. Then the rubber bullets and water guns came out to press the masses of people protesting against a pipeline that the people of America don’t want. The beliefs that are been protected are also been forced onto others, which sounds much like a dictatorship. If you support this political stand-over, then you support the terror it causes innocent animals and civilians. The truth is that the war on terrorism has brought about new, vague policies, which can be used against anyone in opposition of their Government. Big-wig bureaucrats just want to keep everyone busy with all this terrorist hype so they can monopolise our earth.
